Um, I know I just posted, but:

"Outland focuses on the lives of a group of gay sci-fi fans and has been compared to The Big Bang Theory.

Outland's producer Laura Waters said: "[Production company] Princess Pictures is proud that closeted science fiction fans will finally have a voice and that a full family of gay Australian characters can go where they never ventured before - prime-time television."

Outland is due to begin in Australia in February and is expected to air in the UK later in 2012."

Um, um, um... HELL YES!? Seriously, I just watched the first episode and it's great! If you're in Australia and can watch things on ABC iview, it's here. Otherwise it's on ABC2 at 10.30 p.m on Thursdays. Have any of you already seen it? Did you love it? Hate it? The ABC should pay me to advertise, seriously.

"Uh, there's a Dalek in your sugar bowl!"

Genius.

It doesn't match up at all, from what I can tell. I've only seen a few episodes of BBT, but this show seems very different, even if just from a cinematography standpoint. BBT has joke-punchline-laughtrack studded with catchphrases and stereotypes, combined with 2-3 camera angles maximum. Outland, however, seems delightful.

*flies through air to other side of world* Actually, on that note, I might be going to Aussie land in April. >.> It's still up in the air and completely dependent on both my financial situation and my employment situation, but a friend is getting married and I've been invited. It's exciting, though I'd probably die of heat if I went. :3

April! You probably wouldn't die of heat. Which part of Australia are you (possibly) going to? It's generally a lot cooler in Melbourne by April!

Well, it depends on what you define as "a lot cooler". XD The couple in question live in Adelaide, so that's where the wedding is being held and where I'd be going.

Aw, you should come to Melbourne! I think Adelaide might be a bit warmer, but I'm not sure, as I've only been there once and it was in July (i.e it was really cold!). Here is a thing from last year (http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/current/month/vic/archive/201104.melbourne.shtml), to try and answer your question about what I define as a "lot cooler". Keep in mind it gets really hot over Summer, so April is like a dream!

If I do end up making it over there, I will definitely visit Melbourne! :D

Looking at the temperature data, I am now less afraid of melting. That looks like mid-May to mid-June here, which is when it starts warming up and gearing into summer. I'm sure I'd be able to manage.

Melbourne is way cooler than everywhere else, except Tasmania, obviously. You'll be fine! It'll just be the warmer temperatures for you a month earlier!

Visit! Visit! :P
